It can grind various ores and other grindable materials in dry method or wet method. Well, how to chose between the dry type ball mill and wet type ball mill when grinding materials?

1. Selecting correct grinding method

It completely decided by the material nature and the following operations to chose the dry type grinding ball mill or the wet type grinding ball mill. Some materials need to be ground by the dry method, because there will be physical or chemical changes after they encountering water. And in the process of fine grinding, the wear of the dry grinding to the lining board and the medium is relatively small, but the proportion of fine particles in the product is relatively large, which may be the grinding method that people need in some cases. Only by identifying the grinding method that the material is suitable for can guarantee the quality and efficient operation of the ball mill. The two types of mill equipment have their own advantages, and they must be selected according to the specific situation.

2. The wet type ball mill is economical and is more commonly used than dry grinding.

From the perspective of the overall economic effect, wet grinding is generally used in beneficiation. The wet ball mill is also the most widely used because of its advantages such as strong adaptability to materials, continuous production, large crushing ratio, and easy adjustment of the fineness of grinding products. The discharge port of the wet ball mill is trumpet-shaped, and there is with a screw device in the wet ball mill facilitating the discharge of material. Most of the ball mills sold in the market are wet ball mills, which have high grinding fineness and good beneficiation effect.

3. Matters needing attention in the selection of dry grinding and wet grinding.

a. The dry grinding process is suitable for the following situations where the particle size of the powder is not very fine, or where the ball-milled product needs to be stored or sold in powder form (such as glaze, pigment grinding), and where compression molding like facing bricks.

b. For dry type milling, it is generally aimed at materials that do not react in the liquid medium. If there is a reaction, other substances will be formed in the ball mill, and the milling is meaningless.

c. During the dry grinding of the ball mill, sometimes dead corners are formed due to the design of the ball mill tank. And some of the materials in the dead corners cannot be ground, which requires special attention in our daily operations.
